Selfishness over Selflessness

As an incoming senior at West Ranch High School, I've had plenty of run-ins with the good, the bad, and the ugly of our corrupt education system. Now before I go any further, this is not to say every teacher at West Ranch falls under this category, however, the majority of them do deserve to be acknowledged in this demeaning manner (in my opinion). Many of these teachers would rather be paid without having to do much work on their end; by simply handing out bullshit packets and what-not, us students are then made equally dispassionate about the subject we are being taught. Not only does this effect our creative ability, but we lose motivation to even try in the class. These teachers produce a selfish behavior that must be developed into a selfless behavior, where they are willing to go above and beyond for their students; not just focus on what's easy for them.

Over the course of one quarter of a semester, this massive pile of packet-based homework was assigned to me in my Honors English course.
